REZAP FAULTMASTER

LV Auto-recloser and fault management system.

REZAP FAULTMASTER

The REZAP FAULTMASTER has been the leading Fault Auto-Recloser system in the UK for over ten years.

The new REZAP FAULTMASTER is the latest and most advanced version of the unit, building upon the established features while adding new communications and reporting tools.

REZAP FaultMaster Features

Comprehensive communications

The REZAP FAULTMASTER uses GPRS internet connection to talk to a REZAP Server, enabling many features.

Remote Communications

Set up and monitor REZAP FAULTMASTER units wherever you have internet access. Control each User´s access levels and privileges, even down to the SMS or email messages they are to receive.

Voltage and current Data Logging

The waveforms are used by an integrated data logger. The data can be used to detect incipient fault activity and help to determine the distance to the fault. Data easily displayed via REZAP Control Centre software.

Fault thumping

Fault Thumping allows an extra 20% of energy to pass creating larger thumps at the fault location.

Phone Controller

Engineers can operate the REZAP FAULTMASTER while walking the cable route using their mobile phones.

Reporting

Gather all fault information and display results by region, by minutes lost per month or any other way you would like them recorded to show performance improvements or regulatory requirements such as IIP requests from OFGEM in the UK. Reports can be exported in PDF format.

DELTA V Compatibility

Integrated functionality between the REZAP FAULTMASTER and the DELTA V units allow greater accuracy in fault location.

REZAP FaultMaster FAQ

How can I reduce fault response times?

When a REZAP FAULTMASTER is installed, it will auto-reclose in the event of an intermittent fault. This will restore electricity supplies to the L.V. feeder before any Customer Minutes Lost are registered. If a fault has been conditioned and becomes permanent, then the REZAP will enter Lock-out mode and informs the utility staff of the outage condition. This is in contrast to waiting for a customer to call in to report an outage.

How can REZAP FAULTMASTER restore supply without a site visit?

The auto-reset function on the REZAP FAULTMASTER will reset the trips to lockout counter to its default value after a period of fault inactivity. This means that engineers will not have to reset the TTL counter in the field as often. If the TTL counter has to be reset due to a high level of fault activity in a short period of time, it can be performed remotely from any computer in your utility that has the REZAP Connect software installed.

Did the fuse blow due to overloading or a fault?

Determining if intermittent fuse ruptures are due to fault activity or due to overloading can be problematic on some higher capacity networks. The REZAP FAULTMASTER allows an engineer to profile the current over a number of days to determine if there is an overloading condition on the network. An in-built data logger with over-current and under-voltage triggers can capture activity from an intermittent fault that can help determine the nature of the fault. All the data can be viewed remotely from the office.

How can a REZAP FAULTMASTER help me find permanent faults?

The REZAP FAULTMASTER has a fault thump mode that allows 20% extra energy to flow before isolating a faulted circuit. This can help in creating a louder thump at the fault location to aid finding it. A phase-phase disable mode ensures the REZAP FAULTMASTER will stop auto-reclosing when a phase-phase permanent fault condition forms. This ensures that the phase-phase condition is not cleared before it can be used to locate the fault using acoustic methods. The REZAP Phone Controller allows an engineer working on site to control the REZAP FAULTMASTER device while standing in the vicinity of the suspected fault location. This replaces the old Radio Controller, and will always be available so long as the engineer is carrying his mobile phone.

How do I manage many REZAP FAULTMASTER on the network?

REZAP Control Centre software allows users to see all the information from REZAP FAULTMASTERS in the field, including location and substation information to a history of events for a particular area. New fault activity is shown separately as warnings and alarms, so it is easy to see which REZAP need attention. The Control Centre becomes the dash board for Engineers and Managers reviewing faults in the system and can integrate engineering requests with other resource management systems currently operating within your company.

Does the REZAP FAULTMASTER help with IIP?

The REZAP Control Centre software can generate reports from the information received from REZAP FAULTMASTERS. It is possible to gather all fault information and display results by region, by minutes lost per month or any other way you would like them recorded to show performance improvements or regulatory requirements such as IIP requests from OFGEM in the UK.
