May 2011 - Kelvatek China Growing Strong

During a recent visit to Kelvatek’s Shanghai office, Sales Manager Roland Weir met with a number of Kelvatek distributors for China to discuss plans for growth along with early discussions on the introduction of Kelvatek’s new products and technologies.

With strong performance already from the PROFILE P3 in the Asia market; China is growing in to a strong performing market for Kelvatek.

With current breaker maintenance practices focused around a time based inspection and maintenance approach, China has seen a rise in slow tripping failures and the PROFILE P3 is being warmly received as a key tool in the move to condition based maintenance.

During the trip, a number of meetings with local utility companies and personnel also allowed discussion on current trends and future developments in the China utility market.

The opportunity to meet with key members of State Grid Corporation of China’s technical departments allowed both sides to exchange information with the PROFILE P3 being highlighted as a key tool in SGCC’s drive towards better maintenance practices.

Although Kelvatek Shanghai only opened in late 2008, the company has quickly gained a reputation in China for quality, technical excellence and innovation. With orders for 2011 planned to exceed initial targets by 60% a strong platform is now available for the introduction of new Kelvatek products in late 2011, early 2012.
