The Smart Fuse
BIDOYNG The Smart Fuse is a revolutionary development in Low Voltage Network Management.
The BIDOYNG is designed for wide deployment on the LV system and is exceptionally simple to install and use.
Overview
The unit fits into existing LV fuse positions and is based upon the patented concept of two LV fuses in parallel, creating a robust single-shot auto-recloser.
There are two fuses in the device, a primary and a secondary fuse. The primary carries the load current until a fault causes it to blow. Then after a pre-programmed delay the secondary fuse is switched into circuit and the network is re-energised.
Incorporating extensive communications and intelligence, the BIDOYNG enables the development of a real 'Smart' Grid for the distribution network. The modern utility can now create a more efficient, low carbon network while also significantly improving performance.
Fuse replacements can be scheduled and embedded fault location means the cost of finding and repairing intermittent faults is considerably reduced.
